Who We Are Our Team Karen Belissary, though her New York University degree is in interior design, handles the day-to-day functioning of the adult day center and is director of marketing for both businesses. She is involved in numerous civic and community organizations, sitting on the boards of both Pee Dee Mental Health and Limestone College. She's always ready to speak with any group or organization in the area to extol the merits of home care or adult day care. John Belissary, an attorney by training, is the assistant admnistrator for both businesses but serves primarily on the state level. He's currently vice-president of the South Carolina Association of Personal Care Providers (SCAPCP) and president of the South Carolina Adult Day Services Association (SCADSA). He was asked by the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to serve on a Blue Ribbon Panel for a federal initiative called Money Follows the Person and is assigned to its Legislative Changes Committee. Ann Belissary, John's wife, is the office manager of New Generations Home Care, Inc. She earned a Master's in Educational Counseling from the University of South Carolina and uses this training almost every day in dealing with families, clients and staff under stress. After she married John, she quickly came to realize their jobs don't end at 5 p.m. Too, Ann keeps the flowers outside our office looking beautiful with her "dirt therapy". Like Karen, she takes every opportunity to spread the word about our services and pass around business cards at every function. Lynn Ford is Human Resources Director for New Generations Home Care, Inc. She has almost 20 years of experience in managing all aspects of home care and other medically-related offices. While she specializes in human resource issues, Lynn is talented in developing, and juggling, schedules. She has a patient ear for hearing clients' concerns. Lynn's one of those rare people who want to stay busy - she multitasks very well! Cindy Redick functions as the RN Supervisor in Chesterfield, Marlboro and Dillon Counties and comes into the Florence office a couple times a week to review and sign aides' and nurses' notes. She's throughly familiar with all DHHS regulations, having worked as a case manager with Community Long Term Care. She is in her element when teaching aides by providing inservices for us. Cindy has a heart as big as all outdoors; every one of her clients can attest to that by the compassion and concern she shows for them. Diane Graham is an LPN Supervisor in the Florence office and usually the nurse whom the field staff reach when they call the office about a medical problem with their client. Diane has over 30 years of nursing experience with seniors and disabled individuals. She also is a certified Red Cross CPR and first aid instructor. In addtion to working in the office for both New Generations Home Care and New Generations Adult Day Center, she enjoys going into the field and getting to know our clients by admitting them or making a supervisory visit. Diane never misses a chance to go to the beach! Jackie Johnson Springer is our Administrative Specialist. She has a number of years of office experience in bookkepping and supervision. Additionally, she is a certified nursing assistant who worked in the field with New Generations Home Care, Inc. for several years. If the regular personal care aide cannot make a scheduled visit, Jackie doesn't hesitate to go to the client to provide the needed care. Jackie's a sympathetic, understanding listener who, having had experience working in the field, knows first-hand the concerns and problems the direct care staff encounters. Jessica Carnell has a number of years' experience in bookkeeping and handles all the financial aspects of the corporate office in Florence and then manages 4 children at home! Show her something one time and its hers. She's as efficient as her mother, Lynn Ford. Jessica keeps everyone relaxed with her ready, infectious laugh. Samantha Orange, with a number of years experience in the field as a personal care aide, takes call every evening and weekend. If she can't find a fill-in aide to provide care when the assigned aide calls in, we're never surprised to know that Sam went to the client herself. She's wonderful with the call- she's generally able to discern if she's being given an excuse- says she may have used most of them herself! Sam loves giving client care and adores every client she has - she just can't help herself. And she goes the "extra mile" with every client she gets to know. We have a number of supervisory staff - both RNs and LPNs - who work in the field exclusively. Sherrai Gadison-Smith, in our Bluffton office, serves as office manager for the 4 counties coverd by this office (Beaufort, Jasper, Colleton, Hampton). She brings with her considerable management and scheduling experience. Her demeanor exudes caring and compassion for our clients. Beth Radcliff, the RN Supervisor in the Bluffton office, has considerable experience in both home health and hospice nursing. She believes in providing quality client and staff training. We consider our Direct Care Staff the unsung heroes of our organization. These nurses and aides - over 130 strong - who serve our clients are the lifeline to quality and dignity. These employees are the first to meet a client's needs, notice if they're going through some kind of change and offer suggestions to solve problems. They act as their client's advocate and make sure each client's nurses and loved ones are aware of his or her preferences, desires and needs. They listen, provide emotional support and help our clients in their everyday quests to live as independently as possible. Simply put, we could not fulfill our mission - to care for our clients with compassion - without their hard work and dedication. Each day they live up to our motto of being Simply the Best and have made New Generations Home Care one of the most respected home care providers in the state of South Carolina. |
